Welcome to the Month of May,

Traditionally, the calendar for this month includes many events and celebrations that conclude the 2025-2026 school term. Yet first and foremost, we must celebrate our students and teaching staff. Initial data analysis of the ATLAS reveals that for EACH grade level in EACH assessed area, students scoring in the Level 1 quartile decreased while students scoring Level 3 & Level 4 quartiles increased. This represents measurable growth and performance gains for PHMS students.

• This first week of May is Teacher Appreciation Week. Please join the PHMS administrative team in recognizing and honoring the hard work of our teachers. We also want to thank our PTSA for preparing daily events to recognize our wonderful teaching staff!
• Tomorrow, May 5th at 5:30pm, the PHMS choir will have their annual end of year concert. On Thursday, May 7th our PHMS Band & Orchstra will have their end of year concert at 5:30.
• On May 13th at 10am in the Panther Auditorium, 6th & 7th grade students will participate in their annual 6th & 7th grade recognition.
• Thursday May 14th at 5:30pm, our 8th grade students will participate in the Eighth Grade Convocation.
• Friday, May 15th is Panterfest. This will begin at 1:30 pm and end at 3:45 pm.
• On Sunday, May 17th at 2pm, our PHMS Dance classes will have their annual dance recital. There is a $10 admission fee for this event.
• Wednesday May 20th, is the 8th grade field day. Student will assemble in Allsop Park for the entire day.

Also remember that students assigned to high school credit courses will complete semester exams throughout the month of May. Specifics schedules will be provided by the teachers of these courses (Spanish, French, Algebra 1, and Physical Science).

On behalf of the entire faculty and staff of Pulaski Heights Middle School, I want to express my sincere thanks to each and every one of our stakeholders. It is your presence, participation, and persistence that has made PHMS a great school. Thank you for honoring PHMS with your support.

Our 8th grade physical science students had an incredible opportunity to learn from guest speaker Sgt Bruce Scott from the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office! Students discovered how physics is used in the real world through accident reconstruction.

Sgt. Scott explained how concepts like Newton’s Laws, force, speed, velocity, acceleration, and friction help investigators analyze crashes and determine what happened. It was an engaging way to see classroom science come to life through careers in public service.

Thank you, Sgt. Scott, for sharing your time and expertise with our students!
