Good Morning PHMS Community,

On the behalf of the entire faculty of PHMS, I welcome each new & returning students and parents to the 2026-2027 school term. We have great things planned for our students this year and each month, you can expect a monthly communication from your principal. Things to remember the first month of school include; the LRSD/PHMS Cell Phone Policy, the Dress Code Policy, and the instructional expectations of each class.

Please Note:

• Students will participate in grade level assemblies the first week of school. During these gatherings, administrators will review school social & academic expectations with students.
• Teachers will provide updated class related information on the class Schoology page. Parents who are unable to access Schoology may contact Counselor Stephanie Franklin and Instructional Lead Teacher Adrian Booker. Our endeavor is to provide real-time updates using the Schoology Platform.
• The scheduling process is anticipated to continue the first week of school. Please note that special request for schedule changes will not be considered until the week of August 17th.
• Students dropped off before 8am and picked up after 4:30pm will not have LRSD Security or SRO (LRPD) supervision. Please make a point to adhere to the establish school hours.
• You are encouraged to reach out early to each of your students' teachers. Teachers have been encouraged to do the same! We desire a "partnership" with our PHMS Stakeholders.

Looking Forward to an Excellent School Year!

Student/Parent Virtual Check-In has been scheduled for Thursday, July 30th, and Friday, July 31st. It will be VITAL that each parent completes the Free & Reduced Lunch Application. The percentage of completed LRSD lunch applications directly impacts the availability of federal funding. Orientation for 6th grade students has been scheduled for Thursday, August 6th @ 5:30-7:00pm. Sixth grade schedules and tours will be available on this date. A parent campus visitation for 7th and 8th grade students will occur on Friday, August 7th @ 10:00am- 2:00pm. There will not be a formal meeting, but parents will be able to pick up tentative schedules on this date. Also, those students new to the campus of PHMS can participate in campus tours.

Information pertaining to arrival/departure procedures, class/schedule structure, lunch, and student responsibilities will be provided during orientation and grade level meetings during the first week of school. The first day of school is Tuesday, August 11th. We look forward to meeting our new students and greeting our returning students. Classes begin daily at 8:42am. Supervision begins at 8:00am and concludes at 4:30pm for students not participating in extracurricular activities.
