Congrats! This week, two teams of Chicot Math Scholars competed in Round 1 of our LRSD Mathletes Competition alongside over 30 LRSD Teams. Our scholars showed their problem solving skills and ability to synergize! This resulted in both teams advancing to Round 2 set for next week! At Chicot we believe the Leader in Me Paradigm-Everyone has Genius and our scholars demonstrate this in countless ways each and every day! Great work Chicot Mathletes! 🐆 🟰 📝

Today is World Read Aloud Day, and our students celebrated in a big way by reading to students in other grade levels. They were so kind and respectful of each other and incredibly proud of themselves for being so smart and brave! Let's celebrate every student reader every day by encouraging them to read to themselves, read to us, and by still reading to them. After all, we are never too old for a good book!

Prospective families of rising kindergarten scholars, come see us Thursday, February 6th, 4-5 pm, in the Chicot Media Center!
We will share kindergarten readiness activities, review the instructional day, provide tips for managing separation anxiety, and visit a kindergarten classroom. Those in attendance will also receive a readiness kit for home use. Session will be conducted in English and Spanish. To learn more about our school visit: https://www.lrsd.org/o/chicot.

Today is the first day of our school-wide Reading Challenge! We are challenging every student to read 15 minutes every day. Can your student rise to the challenge?
We kicked it off yesterday in a big way! Congratulations to all our student winners!
All student reading minutes are automatically tallied if they read from the myON app in their Classlink account. you can click https://launchpad.classlink.com/lrsd to access the app. If students read independently (or if you read to them), you can log the minutes on Beanstack here https://cals.beanstack.org/reader365 .
Have fun reading and winning more prizes!

Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to celebrate our students at the Student Achievement Ceremonies! 🎉 It was such a heartwarming experience as teachers and students came together to recognize and celebrate each other’s hard work and dedication. The energy was amazing, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the leadership of our student leaders who hosted the event. 🙌 A huge thank you to them for their efforts! We were also thrilled to have many parents join us for this special occasion, and we hope to see even more at our next Achievement Assembly in April. 💫

It's always a great day to be a Cheetah! Congrats to our basketball and cheer teams for another win today! Our players, coaches, and fans were all in! What a great show of skills and spirit! 🐆 🐾 🏀

Good afternoon,
Thank you for your patience at dismissal. We had a pull station activated that caused our fire alarm to go off. While there was not emergency, we recognize this situation delayed our dismissal of students. We appreciate your understanding and are working to address the issue.
