From prep to planting. 🌱💙 Shoutout to American Composting in North Little Rock for the bulk compost donation and to our parent volunteers who showed up and got our garden beds ready for our students. We’re excited to see this space come to life after Spring Break!

Our Student Lighthouse Team in action. 💙
Students collected, packed, and delivered over 50 comfort kits to Arkansas Children’s Hospital and learned how these items will be used to support children during their stay. They had the opportunity to learn from child life specialists, patient activity specialists, hospital school teachers, artists-in-residence, and a music therapist, along with experiencing pet therapy (yes, a dog named Snickers 🐶). So proud of our students for showing empathy, leadership, and service in such a meaningful way. 🐆

Behind every box is a community that cares. 💙 This week, thanks to the generosity of Church at Rock Creek, Malin Opitz Memorial Fund, Random Acts of Kindness LR, and Hiland Dairy, we were able to provide over 70 food boxes and dairy bags to help support our families during Spring Break. 📦 We are so grateful for partners who continue to show up for our students and families. Your kindness truly makes a difference!

We are applying again for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant, which helps provide after-school and summer programs for our students. These programs support literacy and math, enrichment clubs, social-emotional learning, and provide safe after-school care. To help strengthen our application, we need to hear from our families. Please take a moment to complete the short family survey using the link below. Your feedback helps us design a program that truly supports our students and families. Families are also invited to attend our informational meeting on Thursday, April 2 at 7:50 AM to learn more about the program and share ideas.

Kindergarten Round Up was a success! We loved welcoming our future kindergarten scholars and their families as they met our kindergarten team, learned about the upcoming school year, and received helpful resources to prepare for kindergarten. We can’t wait to welcome our newest Chicot Cheetahs next year! 🐆

The event takes place March 16–19 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Central Arkansas Library System Main Library.
