Memories made as this OUTSTANDING 5th grade class moves through their final days as elementary scholars! Last night, they enjoyed their 5th grade dance and selected our 2024-2025 Exemplary Leaders-Allison and Ricardo, who have attended Chicot from Pre-K-5th grade. Congratulations to our Exemplary Leaders, all scholars nominated to the Leadership Court, and this entire 5th grade class! We are so proud of you and look forward to celebrating a month full of memories together!

This week is a BIG ONE! To celebrate this year's leadership efforts, we kick-off the week with Chicot Spirit Days! On Wednesday, we have our Annual Leadership Day. On Thursday, we have a very special Tea Party for our 3 year old scholars. Thursday evening is our school-wide Family Leadership Night. Friday is K-5 Field Day! AND last, but certainly not least....this entire week is Teacher Appreciation Week!
Make sure to check folders and updates on Rooms this weekend for details. We want to see you! You should also have a personalized invitation from your child to join our Leadership Day Celebration.

Deadline Extended until Wed., May 6th! There is still time to donate to the "Change Starts with Me" Socks and Undergarment Drive. We are collecting new socks and undergarments of all sizes for families in need. You can still donate until next Wednesday. Please consider donating to benefit families in our community.

Good Afternoon Families of 1st Grade Scholars,
Unfortunately, due to the weather tomorrow, the 1st grade field trip to Pinnacle Mountain has been canceled. Instead, we are going to have a Disney themed STEM Day focused on our Literacy Module 4-Cinderella stories. Thank you so much for understanding.

Here we are! In addition to all the events May brings, it is time to celebrate one of our very special days: LEADERSHIP DAY! As a Leader in Me School, Leadership Day highlights and celebrates the accomplishments of our student leaders! Chicot Scholars will share how they execute their leadership in classrooms, serve in school-wide leadership roles, showcase their genius in specialty areas and engage in service to the community. Families and community members please use the QR code or the link on the flyer to RSVP for this special day. We look forward to seeing you!

Chicot Cheetahs are prowling for success on the ATLAS test! To gear up for the week, 3rd-5th grade scholars came together in a parade led by the Mabelvale Middle School Drumline that also included, a performance by our Chicot Cheerleaders, scholar-led program, and a special message of encouragement from our superintendent, Dr. Jermall Wright. Our scholars are ready to show their genius and have even written motivational posters to display in the halls! Let's go Cheetahs!🐆🐾🐆

Dear Chicot Families,
We want to make you aware of an incident that occurred at Chicot Early Childhood Center dismissal involving a domestic dispute between two adults, which briefly extended onto our Early Childhood Center parking lot.
Our staff acted immediately by contacting the Little Rock Police Department and LRSD’s Safety and Security team. Officers responded quickly, and one of the individuals involved was taken into custody off campus without incident. Out of an abundance of caution, there was an increased police presence in the area and we went into a brief lockdown. Students and staff who remained on campus were safe, and the lockdown has been lifted. We are grateful for the swift response of law enforcement and our staff, whose quick actions helped ensure that our campus was secure.
Thank you for your continued support and trust in keeping Chicot a safe place for all. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office.
