Little Rock Central High School had nine football players sign their letters of intent, while Little Rock Southwest High School celebrated three signees. February is Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month! At LRSD, students get hands-on learning, industry certifications, and real-world skills that lead to college and career success. With several career pathways at Metro Career Tech, including programs in Automation, LPN Nursing, and Cybersecurity, students can jump-start their futures in high-demand fields. Little Rock Central High School’s Jason McCann kicked off The American Student art show at Thea Foundation. Guests enjoyed an evening of art, conversation, and refreshments from Heritage Catering. The exhibition, sponsored by Delta Dental of Arkansas, highlights McCann’s unique perspective and talent. Those who missed the opening can still visit the gallery during the Argenta Third Friday Art Walk on February 21 or during regular gallery hours, Monday–Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.


Carver STEAM Magnet Elementary School kicked off Black History Month with an assembly in the cafeteria! Students and staff came together to honor the history, culture, and achievements of African Americans through special presentations. The celebration continues with Spirit Week, featuring a new theme each day!


Check this out! 🏛️ Hall-West High School of Innovation’s Student Government Association officers had an unforgettable experience serving as pages in the Arkansas Senate! 🎉 Sabrina Jones, Vera Kanu, Joshua Morehart, Micah Moore, Dalton Palmer, and Jerrick Whitted represented Hall-West with pride, assisting on behalf of Sen. Fredrick Love and Sen. Clarke Tucker. This hands-on opportunity gave them a behind-the-scenes look at the legislative process and a chance to engage with state leaders. Way to go, Warriors! 🔥💪

Pinnacle View Middle School - LRSD’s FBLA members made an impressive showing at the District V Leadership Conference at UCA! The chapter earned 3rd place for largest membership and 4th place for largest membership market share. Students competed in Career Research, Computer Concepts, Spreadsheets, Public Speaking, Website Design, Economics, and more—with several placing in the top 5 of their events! 👏 Congratulations to these future business leaders for their hard work and success!


Congratulations to Mr. Colton Gilbert of Little Rock Central High School for being named the 216th Gold Key Coach of the Barkley Forum Gold Key Society at Emory University! 🎉 This prestigious honor, established in 1964, recognizes outstanding high school debate coaches nationwide. Mr. Gilbert's induction marks only the second time in Arkansas's 90-year speech and debate history that a coach has received this distinction. 🏆

Horace Mann Arts & Science Magnet Middle School AVID students took a trip to UCA, getting a firsthand look at college life! They connected with Arionna, a former Bearcat, and met several college students who shared their experiences. These insights and connections are paving the way for their future success! 🎓🐻


Little Rock Central High School's Chinese Program & Chinese Club celebrated the Chinese New Year in style! 🎊 Students enjoyed calligraphy, paper cuttings, and fun activities to ring in the Year of the Snake. 🐍 The celebrations continued with a lively party full of festive food and games. Wishing everyone a prosperous Year of the Snake! 🐍🎉


🍽️🥬 Mabelvale Elementary LRSD students got hands-on with culinary and math skills, thanks to Apple Seed Teaching Farm! They made a nutritious side dish featuring kale, sweet potatoes, turnips, and a dash of fresh garlic. 👩🍳✨ Learning has never been so tasty! Parents, give it a try at home!


🌟🏆 Lacey Academy Beta Clubs Shine at State Convention! 🏆🌟 Dr. Marian G Lacey K-8 Academy’s Elementary and Junior Beta Clubs made their mark at the Arkansas State Beta Convention, competing in categories like Living Literature, Robotics, Speech, and academic tests in Computer Science, Math, and Spelling! Several students placed in their events and qualified for Nationals in Orlando! 🦁 Let’s give them a big round of applause!


🎉🎈 Rockefeller Pre-K marked the 100th day of school with a fun and festive parade! Some students dressed as centenarians, while others showed off creative posters and shirts decorated with 100 objects—one for each school day. ✨ What a great way to celebrate learning and growth!


🐉✨ Celebrating Chinese New Year at King! ✨🐉 Students at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership and Language Magnet Academy brought in the Chinese New Year with a vibrant celebration! The event featured an interactive martial arts demonstration from ATA Martial Arts, a fashion show, a music performance, and a lively parade with students and staff. This marks the first year of King’s language magnet program, and students were proud to showcase their Mandarin skills and cultural knowledge.


🌟🌍 Leadership in action at Gibbs Magnet School! Today, the Gibbs Mini UN student leadership team officially took office. 💼✨ U.S. Magistrate Judge Benecia Moore led the special ceremony as the Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General and ambassadors proudly took their oaths. 💙🤍
