Good Morning Skyhawks,

Beginning Monday, October 6, students will no longer be permitted to bring scissors to school. While scissors were originally included on the student supply list, we have found that they are not being used appropriately and have also caused issues with our scanners.

Starting Monday, any scissors brought to school will be collected. These will be added to classroom supply sets so that students still have access to scissors when they are needed for instructional purposes.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to maintain a safe and productive learning environment for all of our students.

We are excited to host a schoolwide celebration of Latin and Hispanic cultures! Families are invited to share their heritage by setting up individual booths that highlight the rich traditions of different countries.

Parents may display food samples, boutique items, cultural crafts, clothing, or heritage items that represent their culture. Each booth should give our students a chance to experience and learn about the unique contributions of Latin and Hispanic communities.

We ask that families bring enough items to share with students and include a brief description of the country or tradition you are highlighting.

On Behalf of the LRSD Athletic Dept., please review new game day procedures:

To clarify, these procedures also apply to middle school athletic events.

Additionally, middle school students must be accompanied by an adult (21 years or older with a valid ID) in order to attend athletic events.
Please review and share the following updated procedures regarding attendance at LRSD athletic events:
Student Admission
LRSD high school students attending their home school’s game must present both an LRSD Student ID and a ticket for entry.
Students from other K–12 schools (inside or outside LRSD, including elementary, middle, and high school) must be accompanied by an adult (21 years or older with valid ID).
No refunds will be issued for minors attempting to enter without an adult.
Game Entry Guidelines

No entry will be permitted after halftime.
No refunds will be issued for late arrivals.
Ticket sales will close at 4:00 PM on game day. This allows security and police staffing to be properly adjusted for crowd size and safety.
Clear Bag Policy
All attendees must follow the LRSD clear bag policy. This policy is designed to increase safety and speed up the entry process.

One clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag not exceeding 12" x 6" x 12".
One clear, one-gallon plastic freezer bag (Ziploc-style).
One small clutch (no larger than 4.5" x 6.5") for personal items.
Medically necessary items will be permitted after proper inspection.
Phones, cameras, and binoculars may be carried outside of a bag or case.
