These conversations are a chance to learn more about district priorities, ask questions, and share feedback before final decisions are made. The first meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Southwest Community Center (6401 Baseline Rd). The second meeting will be on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 5:30 p.m. at Henderson (401 John Barrow Rd). Both meetings will cover the same information. Come be part of the conversation as we plan responsibly for the future of LRSD.

Mabelvale Elementary students welcomed a special guest this week as Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott, Jr. became the very first guest on their EAST Program's “We Speak the Truth” Podcast. Mayor Scott shared about his role as mayor and encouraged the 5th graders to keep striving for greatness. Thanks to support from the EAST Initiative, students are learning valuable leadership, service, and technology skills that will prepare them for the future.

📚 Literacy in Action! The Rotary Club of Little Rock Afterhours continues to champion reading through its ongoing partnership with LRSD. Now in its third year, the program challenged students to read 20 minutes each day—and they rose to the occasion! 👏 Congratulations to our top three schools for total minutes read. 🥇 Mabelvale Elementary – 67,835 minutes 🥈 Chicot Elementary and Early Childhood Center – 64,515 minutes 🥉 Otter Creek Elementary School – 59,398 minutes.
