Students practicing Dendrochronology in Plant Science: counted rings to determine the tree's first year of growth occured in 1960; also looked at temperature & rainfall data during the tree's lifetime to determine effects of climate during growing seasons.

Day 6: Last day exploring Japan! We went to 2 Shinto shrines: the Nara (deer) and Inari (fox) shrines. We also visited 2 Buddhist temples: the Great Buddha and the Golden Pavillion. On our way back to the hotel, we passed the Kyoto Tower, the tallest building in the city.
