CASE Plant Science students are determining the attributes of various materials used in mixed media (potting soils). They were able to identify the weight, mass, and volume of inorganic materials, organic materials, and ammendments as well as created physical descriptions to differentiate each particular material.
Did you know that there are three inorganic materials used in potting media that come from volcanos? They are called perlite, vermiculite, and pumice! All three are light weight and allow for increased porosity in the potting mix. #beyourbestatwest #reimagininglrsd

Congratulations to LR West HSOI which has been named to the 2023 AP School Honor Roll! LR West HSOI is a BRONZE member of the Honor Roll! WEST HS had 48% of seniors who took at least one AP exam during high school, 25% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP exam, and 17% of seniors who took five or more AP exams! #APSchoolHonorRoll
