We want to remind you of two events happening on Thursday.
1. This week is our last food distribution before winter break. We have enough food for 45 families. We begin at 3:15 PM in the bus loop. Please DO NOT arrive early or line up in the loop.
2. All Kindergarten through 5th Grade students, parents, and guardians! Come out and enjoy music, arts, crafts, and fun this Thursday at 5:30! You can meet our student leaders, watch the 2nd Grade music presentation, and witness our talented 4th and 5th Grade Choir sing. Find out more about what your kids are learning about, have fun, and every Chicot student gets a free book to take home and keep!

What a great start to Winter Spirit Week! We had so many students and staff members in today's theme, "Ugly Sweater." Our students made their sweaters look really cute! Tuesday is Flannel Day! Stay warm and show your winter spirit by wearing flannel tomorrow!
Chicot's got talent! Congratulations to Khalani,1st grade, for her 1st place entry in the pre-k to 1st grade division of the Holiday Coloring Contest. The contest is part of the 36th Annual Gingerbread Extravaganza. Thank you Treatment Homes for providing this opportunity!

It's official! We have a new 2023-2024 Chicot Spelling Bee Champion. Congratulations to Raymond Shaw for winning 1st place in our Chicot Spelling Bee! We are proud of all 19 Spelling Bee participants. Everyone did a fabulous and showcased our Leader in Me paradigm that "Everyone has Genius." Way to go spellers!
Next week is the last week before Winter Break! Join us for a little fun and participate in our Winter Spirit Week. We will start the week with Ugly Sweater Day!
Reminder! Today is our weekly food distribution. We start at 3:15 PM in the bus loop.
I want to share a few things:
1. Next Thursday is our last distribution before winter break. We will have boxes for 45 families. The church will bulk up the boxes. Remember to say thank you. They have a lot of folks who work hard to provide families with food.
2. Weekend bags (white health clinic bag): enough to last a weekend for a student. Students bring home on Friday.
3. Weekly grocery bag (brown recyclable bag): food for the entire family. One bag per family. Students bring home on Thursday.

Friday, December 8th, at 8 am is our Chicot Spelling Bee. The top 2 winners from each 3rd-5th classroom bee will compete and show off their spelling skills this Friday in the cafeteria. We would love for you to come, watch and support our students!
