We need your help! If you've driven the new car rider loop, you might have noticed our new 1/8 mile community track. We are seeking nominations to name the new track. Got an idea? Last chance! We have some vegetable plants left. They've grown quite a bit.
All plants are $3 or pay what you can. See Ms. Nancy next Tuesday at the PreK steps.

It's an exciting day in the world of Community Schools. The City of Little Rock is a grant recipient from the African American Mayors Association. $125,000 will be used to support the following efforts over three years.
-Support garden education at Community Schools
-Expand FoodCorps at existing and future sites
-Support nutrition education including family cooking classes
A special thanks to Mayor Scott, Jennifer Glasgow, UAMS School of Public Health, UAMS Culinary Medicine, and FoodCorps for showing the value of this work. This work changes how students and families interact with food while addressing food access. Check out the video!
Shout to the families who participated in the cooking class and FoodCorps members who educate students at Chicot, Mabelvale, and Watson Elementary Schools.

Update: LRPD has updated our campus and we are no longer on perimeter lockdown. Again, we were placed on perimeter lockdown out of an abundance of caution due to a community incident. All students and safe are safe. We will begin dismissal at the regularly scheduled time. Thank you for your patience.

Good Afternoon Chicot Families,
Out of an abundance of caution, we are currently on a perimeter lockdown due to a community incident. LRSD Safety & Security has been contacted and LRPD is monitoring the situation. All students and staff are safe. We will keep you updated.
