Dear 3rd Grade Families,
On Friday, February 27, your child will bring home an important letter regarding their reading progress and Arkansas promotion requirements for 3rd grade students.
Under the Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, students must score at or above grade level on the spring state summative assessment in April to be automatically promoted to 4th grade.
This letter will inform you of your child’s current reading status based on recent interim assessment data.
The letter will indicate one of the following:
On Track/Ready for Promotion, or
Potential Risk of Not Being Promoted
If your child is identified as “Potential Risk,” this does not mean they will automatically be retained. It does mean they need additional reading support between now and the April state assessment. Our team is already working with students through targeted instruction and intervention, and we will partner closely with families to ensure every child has the support needed to be successful.
Please review the letter carefully when it comes home and contact your child’s teacher or the school office if you have any questions. We are committed to keeping you informed and working together to help every student meet grade-level expectations.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
This announcement is for ALL families of students that ride Bus 17B (boy).
Beginning tomorrow, Thursday, February 26, there will be new stop pick-up times. An updated route sheet is being sent home today with students that ride 17B.
Please make note of your child's new pick up time and remember that students are supposed to arrive at their stop 10 minutes early.
If you have any questions, please contact First Student.

Please see the flyer for daily themes. We look forward to celebrating together!

Dear Bale Families,
Parent-Teacher Conferences are this Monday, February 16th, from 12:00–6:00 PM. This is a great time to review your child’s progress and celebrate growth.
Please schedule your appointment with your child's teacher. Thank you for partnering with us----We all Make a Difference!

Testing Reminder: Let’s make sure our students are game ready! Thank you for getting your students to school on time and ready to do their best on our Interim Assessment today. Let’s keep it up!
We will continue testing on Tuesday, February 10th. Remember, school doors open at 7:05 a.m. for breakfast, and all students should arrive by 7:30 a.m. to ensure a smooth start to testing.
Friendly Reminder: School doors open at 7:05 a.m. for breakfast, and the tardy bell rings at 7:45 a.m. Dismissal begins at 2:55 p.m., and students should be picked up no later than 3:20 p.m. Thank you for helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe and smooth for all students. We appreciate your partnership!

Good afternoon Bale families! This is an important reminder for families of students in grades 3 through 5.
State interim testing will begin tomorrow, Monday, February 9 through Thursday, February 12.
The building opens each day 7:05 a.m. for breakfast. All students should arrive no later than 7:30 a.m., as testing will begin promptly.
Please make sure your child gets plenty of sleep and has breakfast each day.
Our goal is to ensure that all state interim testing is completed prior to Friday’s Valentine’s Day parties. To help us meet this goal, we ask that students are present and on time each day during the testing window.
Thank you for helping ensure your child is present, on time, and ready to do their best.

The Glow Dance Party will take place on Thursday, February 13.
Students can earn their way to the Glow Party by meeting the following criteria between January 20–February 6:
Earn at least 75 out of 84 Daily Six points in ROOMS by consistently showing ROARing behavior choices
No office referrals
No in-school or out-of-school suspensions
We can’t wait to celebrate our students who consistently demonstrate ROAR behavior and a strong commitment to learning. Let’s keep shining, Bobcats! 🌟🐾

📚 Arkansas Literacy Tutoring Grant Program (K–3 Students)
Families of eligible Kindergarten–3rd grade students will receive a letter about the Arkansas Literacy Tutoring Grant Program through the LEARNS Act. This grant provides $1500 that families can use for state-approved online or in-person literacy tutoring services.
Families must apply online to receive the funds. The letter sent home includes important information to help guide families through the process.
We encourage eligible families to review the letter carefully and consider applying if interested. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the school for assistance.
As we approach Winter Break, we want to share two important updates to support our students’ continued learning and growth.
❄️ Winter Break Extended Learning Packets (All Students)
By December 17, students in all grade levels will bring home a Winter Practice Packet provided by Network 3. These packets are designed to give students extra opportunities to practice key skills and standards taught during the first semester (Quarter 1 & Quarter 2).
Packets are optional and will not be graded. They are intended to provide additional practice—not new learning.
Students who return a completed packet after the break will be eligible for a school incentive (more details coming soon!)
We understand that families have different plans during the break, and participation is encouraged but not required.
This is a quick FYI that our Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade students will take the ATLAS Interim Assessment on Tuesday, December 9th and Wednesday, December 10th.
