🌍🔬 10 students from Central High competed at the International Science & Engineering Fair in Columbus, OH — the world’s largest pre-collegiate science fair with students from over 60 countries! Huge congratulations to Aakash Bhattacharyya for earning 4th place in Computational Biology ($600 prize) and to Yogi Patel, who received a full scholarship to Missouri S&T’s science camp and a $1,500 award! 🏅👏 All of the students who went represented LRSD and Arkansas with excellence! 🖤💛

🎣 Hooked on Learning — and Fishing! 🐟 Western Hills Elementary School students had an unforgettable day at Boyle Park for the 4th Annual Fishing Derby, organized by beloved P.E. teacher and fishing enthusiast Coach Amy Kennedy! 🐟 With poles in hand and excitement in the air, 1st through 5th graders tried their luck at catching catfish in a pond freshly stocked by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. 📚 Literacy in Action! The Rotary Club of Little Rock Afterhours continues to champion reading through its ongoing partnership with LRSD. Now in its third year, the program challenged students to read 20 minutes each day—and they rose to the occasion! 👏 Congratulations to our top three schools for total minutes read. 🥇 Mabelvale Elementary – 67,835 minutes 🥈 Chicot Elementary and Early Childhood Center – 64,515 minutes 🥉 Otter Creek Elementary School – 59,398 minutes.
