Academic excellence is shining bright at Little Rock Central High School! Sixteen Central students have been named 2027 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, placing them among some of the nation’s highest-achieving high school students.
Congratulations to Bennet Chen, Saloni Choudhary, Susana Conti, Nidhi Hebbar, Yuhan Hu, Aaron Kathi, Caroline Kolb, Ao Liu, Jesse Muller, Kirby O'Dell, Lilian Ouyang, Deven Patel, Margaret Qin, Nirihor Rahman, Murat Ulupinar, and Shangyu Wu on this outstanding achievement.
More than 1.2 million students nationwide entered the 2027 competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Just over 16,000 students were selected as Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.
The Central students now have the opportunity to advance to Finalist standing and compete for approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $24 million.
