Big congratulations are in order for Metropolitan Career Technical Center's Ms. Regina Howard!

She has been named one of the Top 15 Finalists for the 2027 Arkansas Teacher of the Year, earning statewide recognition for her exceptional work in the classroom and her dedication to preparing students for success.

As a Top 15 Finalist, Howard will receive a certificate recognizing her achievement along with a $1,000 cash award, generously provided by the Walton Family Foundation. The finalists will be recognized during a special ceremony at the Governor's Mansion, where the state semifinalists will also be announced.

The Arkansas Teacher of the Year program honors educators who demonstrate exceptional teaching practices, strong leadership, and a lasting impact on student achievement. The 2027 Arkansas Teacher of the Year will be announced later this fall and will go on to represent Arkansas in the National Teacher of the Year program.
