A championship season and a bold new future took center stage Tuesday at Hall High School. Little Rock School District leaders and Hall administrators gathered in Cirks Arena to celebrate the approval of Hall’s new innovative learning model and the boys’ basketball team’s 4A State Championship.
A New Chapter for Hall High School
Hall High School received full approval from both the Little Rock School District Board of Directors and the Arkansas State Board of Education to implement a personalized learning model appropriate for a small high school learning environment beginning in Fall 2026. Under the new model, students will be able to work at their own pace, personalize their academic pathway, and supplement coursework with project-based learning, internships, and other innovative experiences. The transition positions Hall High to become one of the most innovative public high schools in the state, expanding opportunity and flexibility for every student who walks through its doors.
“Today is a proud moment for Hall High School,” said Principal Carlton McGee. “Our students and staff have shown what is possible when dedication, teamwork, and belief come together. As we celebrate a state championship on the court, we are also preparing for an exciting new chapter in the classroom. The innovative model we are introducing will allow our students to move forward in their learning in a way that works best for them, explore their interests, and take advantage of opportunities that prepare them for college, careers, and life beyond Hall.”
4A State Basketball Champions
Tuesday’s celebration also honored the Hall High Warriors boys' basketball team, which captured the 4A State Championship with a 59–54 victory over Mills High School. Under the leadership of Head Coach Jon Coleman and Assistant Coach Ahmad Martin, the Warriors delivered a historic season that has energized the entire Hall High community.
“This is an exciting time for Hall and for the Little Rock School District,” added Superintendent Dr. Jermall Wright. “We are rethinking what high school can look like, while creating an environment where students have more flexibility, more real-world experiences, and more pathways to success. Pairing this forward-thinking vision with the pride and excellence demonstrated by our state championship basketball team makes today a powerful reminder of what Hall High students can achieve.”
