Students at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership and Language Magnet Academy were wrapped in warmth and care this week as IAFF Local 34 and Entergy Arkansas partnered once again for their annual Operation Warm celebration. After a special school assembly in the multipurpose room, every student received a brand-new winter coat, delivered personally by firefighters and Entergy employees.
The initiative began in 2015 after local firefighters noticed children shivering at a bus stop and has since grown into a cherished tradition across the Little Rock School District. Through generous fundraising, strong community support, and a longstanding partnership with Entergy Arkansas, Operation Warm continues to ensure students have the comfort they need during the winter months.
LRSD is grateful to IAFF Local 34, Entergy Arkansas, and all supporters who make a lasting difference in the lives of our students each year.
