Bell to Bell, No Cell Act in public schools for 2025-2026

Starting with the 2025–2026 school year, the Arkansas Bell to Bell, No Cell Act will be enforced in all public schools, including Little Rock School District and Parkview Arts/Science Magnet High School. This new law prohibits students from using personal electronic devices during the entire school day — from the first bell to the last.

What You Need to Know:

No device use during school hours: Students may not use cell phones, smartwatches, tablets, or laptops during class time.

Exceptions: Limited exceptions are allowed for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), extracurricular activities, and emergencies.

District Policy: Little Rock School District is updating its electronic device policy to comply with this law. Once finalized, an updated cell-phone policy will be published in the Little Rock School District Code of Conduct before the start of the 2025–2026 school year. Parkview Arts/Science Magnet High School will follow the LRSD Code of Conduct and AR State Law in regard to its cell-phone policy.

Why This Change?

The goal of the Bell to Bell, No Cell Act is to reduce distractions and create a better learning environment for all students.
