A reminder saying students will be out of school Monday, February 23, 2026, for Professional Development and that LRSD offices will be open.

Welcome, Our New Head-Football Coach Cameron Murray!

I am originally from Little Rock and developed a passion for football at a young age, starting my journey in the IYFL with the West Side Steelers. This early experience helped me transition to Dunbar Middle School and eventually prepared me to play football at Bryant High School. During high school, I earned All-American honors and became a nationally ranked defensive lineman. I received numerous accolades, including all-conference and all-state selections, and was named the co-defensive player of the year in my conference. Ultimately, I received over 15 offers to play collegiate football and chose to attend Oklahoma State University. There, I was a four-year letterman, earned an all-preseason Big 12 honorable mention, and was recognized as an academic All-Big 12 multiple times. I also received the 2019 OSU Barry Sanders Award for making significant contributions despite limited recognition.

After college, I went undrafted by the Arizona Cardinals but spent time on their practice squad and played in a couple of games on the active roster. Following a year and a half in the NFL, I transitioned to the Canadian Football League (CFL) and had the opportunity to play for the BC Lions.

Once my time in the CFL concluded, I began my coaching career at West Mesquite High School before moving on to Valley View High School in Jonesboro, Arkansas. While at Valley View, I was part of a coaching staff that won three consecutive conference titles and made multiple appearances in the state playoffs. I was fortunate to coach many players who progressed to compete at the collegiate level.

My wife and I have a two-year-old daughter named Carsyn. Embracing this role outside of football has been a joy. Family is a foundational aspect of my life, and I look forward to building one within the Little Rock Southwest community.
