Cloverdale Civil Air Patrol Cadets traveled to Ft. Chaffee over Spring Break to participate in various activities. Cadets spent two days on the Army post attending classes before deploying to a remote area to practice what they had learned in class. They set up a bivouac area and participated in search and rescue scenarios. Using radio direction finding equipment, cadets hiked a half mile to find a simulated aircraft crash site, performed a medical assessment on a medical "dummy", and notified 911. Advanced students became certified as Emergency Response Team members through a series of FEMA courses taught by the Sebastian County Emergency Management Department.
