Principal Ruffins introducing our speaker from UCA about the GEAR UP Program for 6th and 7th grade students.

The University of Central Arkansas came to Cloverdale today to inform the 6th and 7th graders that they are now GEAR UP Scholars (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs). GEAR UP is one of the largest and most effective programs focused on increasing the college and career readiness of students in communities nationwide. It is a partnership funded by the US Department of Education. UCA GEAR UP provides training and support for students, families, administrators, and teachers. The program’s goal is to enhance preparation for post-secondary education. This means that over the next seven years, UCA GEAR UP will partner with you and your child’s school to engage your child in activities that will help them prepare for college or a career.
