Graphic from Little Rock School District titled “Optimizing Our Tomorrow: Budget Conversations – Community Meetings.” The top of the image shows the Little Rock School District logo and name over a blue background with charts and data visuals. The graphic explains that the Fiscal Year 2027 budget priorities include spending only the money the District actually has, adjusting staff levels to match student enrollment, cutting overall spending to address long-term budget gaps, building a healthier savings balance for future financial challenges, and protecting programs, people, and resources that matter most to students and classrooms. The graphic invites all community members, especially parents, students, staff, and families, to participate in discussions about the future of the District and its budget. It emphasizes that community feedback is important and reflects the District’s commitment to transparency and listening. The bottom of the graphic lists two community meeting dates: February seventeenth, evening session at five thirty p.m. at Southwest Community Center; and February nineteenth, evening session at five thirty p.m. at Henderson.

Course Selection for the 2026-2027 school year will begin in January. Over the next few months, the Guidance Department will meet individually with all students to select their courses for the next school year. Counselors will discuss with each grade level to discuss graduation requirements and post-secondary opportunities. Each student will then meet with their individual counselor to create their schedule. Each student will bring home a tentative course verification sheet with the courses they selected for you to review and sign. Teacher recommendations, along with student and parent choice, are what counselors rely on to help create your child’s schedule. Please speak with your child’s counselor with questions regarding their schedule.
The final day to make any changes to the 2026-2027 schedule will be Thursday, March 12th, 2026. No schedules will be changed or adjusted after March 12th.
