The Little Rock School District's annual ViPS Awards took place earlier this week, and several members of the Carver community were recognized for their outstanding contributions.
Mrs. Kimberly Badejo received the Family Volunteer Award, Mrs. Deborah Ramsey was honored with the Employee Volunteer Award, and Mr. Crader was presented with a special Lifetime Achievement Award pin for contributing over 4,000 volunteer hours over the past ten years.
Carver Elementary also received a banner recognizing the school for averaging 70+ volunteer hours per student — an incredible achievement!
Congratulations to all of our award recipients!
We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to former Carver staff member Mrs. Belotti for her unwavering support in helping our staff and families track their volunteer hours. Her persistence and dedication over the years have played a key role in making this recognition possible.

Yesterday, we celebrated Bus Driver Appreciation Day! We are so grateful for our amazing bus drivers who work hard every day to keep our students safe and get them where they need to be. Thank you for your dedication, care, and the important role you play in our school community!

Our Spring Showcase is just two weeks away! There will be two performances: one at 9 AM for students and staff, and another at 6 PM for friends and family. On the day of the showcase, students are encouraged to wear western attire.

Today in Art, Ms. Shumate's 4th graders participated in an Art Scene Investigation, exploring how the art was made, what supplies were used, and its meaning. Thank you, Mrs. Crowell, for providing such an exciting lesson for our students!

We sincerely appreciate the generous donation from the Little Rock Rotary Club, which will allow Carver to purchase books for our students. Your support is truly valued.

Thanks!

LRSD continues to monitor weather conditions and has NO plans to dismiss early at this time. However, all after-school activities are canceled. If adjustments need to be made to our plans, we will contact you immediately. Please monitor your messages from LRSD for updates. Thanks!

Due to the threat of severe weather moving into our area, LRSD will dismiss school early today, all after-school activities are cancelled, and CARE will be closed. Elementary sites will dismiss at 1:30 p.m., followed by secondary schools at 2:30 p.m. This decision was made in the best interest of students and staff, in consultation with the National Weather Service, LRSD’s Emergency Management and Transportation teams, and surrounding districts. Please note that if tornado sirens are activated during these dismissal times, we will initiate our shelter-in-place procedures, and building doors will be locked until the threat has passed. Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Please stay safe.
