Carver's Mathletes showcased their skills in the 2025 Mathletes Challenge, advancing to the second round with an impressive performance. A special thanks to Mrs. Maupin and Mrs. Shields for their dedication in coaching and preparing the team. Great job, Mathletes!






Carver STEAM Magnet Elementary School kicked off Black History Month with an assembly in the cafeteria! Students and staff came together to honor the history, culture, and achievements of African Americans through special presentations. The celebration continues with Spirit Week, featuring a new theme each day!

Our counselor, Mr. Cooper, is being honored by the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock during Black History Month! His poster will be displayed in the building, and you can even grab cookies featuring his likeness at Community Bakery. Congratulations, Mr. Cooper!

Students, families, and staff hit the dance floor and celebrated in style. 👟 The excitement continues as we prepare for the opening of the new Carver-Washington STEAM Magnet Elementary this August!


Yesterday, Carver’s K-4 students visited Washington Elementary to explore all it has to offer! Our specialty teachers also showcased their talents too. The day ended with a fun Sneaker Ball, where students from both schools got to mingle and connect! #Carver-Washington STEAM

LRSD achieves significant milestone based on latest ATLAS assessment results/cut scores. Div. of Elem&Sec. Ed at ADE announced that LRSD has surpassed the performance threshold outlined by the State & will no longer be required to participate in quarterly Act 1082 check-ins.

Out of an abundance of caution and after consultation with surrounding districts, LRSD’s Safety and Security team, First Student Transportation, and the National Weather Service, LRSD will close schools and offices on Thursday and Friday, January 9-10, 2025, due to anticipated inclement weather. Forecasters predict significant freezing/snow conditions moving into our area starting tomorrow. All athletic events are also canceled. In making weather-related decisions, LRSD prioritizes the safety of students and staff.
LRSD staff, please monitor your emails for additional instructions from our Human Resources Department.

Yesterday, our halls were filled with laughter and holiday cheer as students and staff celebrated our festive holiday parties! It was a wonderful time of togetherness, creativity, and joy—thank you to all who made it so special!
As we wrap up this season of celebration, we want to remind everyone that Winter Break is just around the corner! The school will be closed from December 23rd to January 6th, giving our students and families the perfect opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy the holiday season.
Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 7th. We can't wait to see everyone back in the new year, ready for more learning and fun! Have a safe and joyful break!

Yesterday, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra's String Quartet visited Carver Elementary kindergarteners! The kids loved learning about the instruments and experiencing live music up close. Thank you, ASO, for inspiring the next generation of music lovers! #MusicEducation
