(Update - December 12, 2018)
The public will have an opportunity to share input Thursday, December 13, during a public forum regarding the LRSD Community Blueprint. The forum will take place during the Community Advisory Board meeting, 5:30 PM, in the Activity Center at Metro, 7701 Scott Hamilton. Those interested in speaking will have three minutes to share their input and are requested to sign up when they arrive at the meeting. There will also be a separate public comment period for any other non-related items at the end of the CAB meeting. Patrons are also requested to sign up on site and will again have a three-minute limit.
Those who are not able to attend the meeting will be able to view it on Facebook Live.
Original documents and related feedback from the LRSD Community Blueprint Design discussions may be found on lrsdcommunityblueprint.com. Following the meeting, a survey will be posted on lrsdcommunityblueprint.com for additional input. The deadline for completing the survey will be next Wednesday, December 19. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to your valuable input!
The Little Rock School District began community conversations this fall to gain community input, seek recommendations, and hear concerns about learning enviroments, choices, and improvements - all with the goal of laying the foundation for a Facilities Master Plan. These Community Blueprint Disccussion sessions took place over multiple meetings at sites throughout the District. We are seeking three outcomes through the process: 1) Improving Academic Environments, 2) Enhancing Parental Choices, and 3) Improving Staff Salaries (with an emphasis on Starting Teacher Salaries). Feedback from the sessions was compiled, followed by surveys. Results from the surveys will be studied further by the LRSD Community Advisory Board, then repackaged with additional feedback from the community.
The Blueprint will be available for all to see in early 2019. When the plan is presented, it will allow LRSD to update its state Master Facility Plan and begin another phase of community engagement possibilities as we implement the proposed plan.
