Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Core Values ~ We are Safe, Thoughtful, Accountable, and Respectful
We are proud to utilize the PBIS framework to support our students! Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a preventative and positive multi-tiered system of support embraced by the Little Rock School District to foster a safe and positive learning environment.
PBIS includes four main components:
- Clearly defining and teaching behavioral expectations
- Consistently acknowledging and rewarding expected behavior
- Providing clear and consistent interventions when students break expectations
- Using behavioral data to assess progress and address needs
When students demonstrate safe, thoughtful, accountable, and respectful behavior, students will learn at higher levels and earn star coins.
Students can earn star coins to make deposits at the PBIS Bank and purchase goods and services in the PBIS store. S.T.A.R. Behavior Shines!
