• Fire and Emergency Medical

    Industry Certification:  CPR/First Aid, Stop the Bleed, National Emergency Communications (911 Dispatch)

    The Fire and Emergency Medical pathway prepares students to provide emergency pre-hospital assessment and care of patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries. Students will gain the necessary skills to help sustain life until injured patients can be transported to an emergency facility.

  • FIRE AND EMERGENCY MEDICAL PATHWAY

    Areas of study include an introduction to emergency medical services and systems as well as the roles and responsibilities of First Responders. Students will explore anatomical structures of the human body and their function as well as medical terminology often used in emergency services.

    The student will demonstrate the ability to use scientific skills and processes to apply knowledge of human anatomy and physiology in effective responses to emergency situations; to use skills, equipment, research, and technology to assess the appropriate care for an injured person. They will investigate the legal aspects of a First Responder's duties, rights, and responsibilities.

    Students will also participate in emergency simulations, laboratory dissections, field-trips, job shadowing, and obtain certification in CPR/First aid.
