Automotive Service Technology

  • If you are interested in cars and want to repair high-tech vehicles, take a closer look at Metro’s Automotive Service Technology program. This program is certified by Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) and National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), is designed for students who would like to work in the automotive service industry.

    Students will learn about diagnosing and repairing four (4) ASE automotive areas:

    Brakes, Electrical/ Electronic Systems, Engine Performance, and Suspension & Steering. Students will learn how to use state-of-the-art manufacturer scan tools (Tech II, Genesis, DRB III, Snap-on Scanner, Star Scan).

    Students also receive training on Hofmann Geoliner 670 Wheel Aligner.

    All students will be registered learners of study on the CDX online curriculum. The summer prior to senior year, students may participate in an Internship program paired with a professional experienced in the field.

    This program of study will provide an excellent foundation for continuing education at a college/university or specialty school of the student’s choice.
