Reminder Regarding Opportunity School Choice Act
Please be advised that LRSD students’ residence-assigned to Level 5 - Intensive Support school districts and/or 'F' schools are eligible for Opportunity School Choice, including support for transportation. Important Student Assignment Update
Attention LRSD Parents and Guardians:
July 15th will begin our online check-in, and it will continue until school starts. Check-in is imperative to guarantee a seat at your currently assigned school. If there are overages, seats will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. All others will be alternately assigned to the nearest school with seats available.
You may check in online by using the following link: https://update.lrsd.org
- Username: Student's ID number
- Password: Student's date of birth MM/DD/YYYY - (Please Note: you must use this exact format, including the slash marks "/")
If you have moved during the summer, you will need to report to Student Registration to beat the rush/crowd once school starts. You may update your address at Student Registration now, or at your assigned school on or before August 2nd.

- Student username will be the student ID number
- Student password will consist of the birthday and the first initial of the first name capitalized in this order: YYYYMMDD

- Pre-registered students (NOT CURRENTLY ATTENDING A LRSD SCHOOL) and Pre-K applicants will receive next year assignment notifications via regular mail.

The Little Rock School District has a new Gateway enrollment system that parents will use to enroll NEW* students. To use the online Gateway system, parents will be required to create a username and password. You may register online by using the following links: https://registration.lrsd.org. Log on with your mobile device, laptop, or computer or you may visit the Student Registration Office Parent Center. *NEW students have NEVER attended LRSD.
Your application will not be complete until you schedule an appointment with a Student Registration Agent to submit all required documentation. Documentation required will be the child's birth certificate, social security card or number, two current proofs of your residence, (including a utility bill and a signed lease agreement) and the child’s immunization record.
*Students who have a CURRENT LRSD assignment DO NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING at this time! Check-In dates will be provided at a later date.

Parents may load all documents in the Registration Gateway portal or bring all documentation to the Student Registration Office located at 501 Sherman Street in Little Rock.*Your application will not be complete until you schedule an appointment with a Student Registration Agent to verify all required documentation.

How do I register my child for the Little Rock School District using the new Gateway online portal?
You may register on line at www.lrsd.org or registration.lrsd.org
- Click on the PARENTS
- Under STUDENT REGISTRATION, click on Online Student Registration.
- Use the link (CLICK HERE) to begin a new registration. The Gateway Registration will appear.
- Click on START (right side of page), then select “I AM READY TO BEGIN.”
- On this page, build the Profile Information for your student.
Who can register for the Little Rock School District?
- Parents may register students from P3-12th grade.
What is the age requirement to register students in the Little Rock School District?
- P3- students must be three years of age on or before August 1, 2019.
- P4-students must be four years of age on or before August 1, 2019.
- Kindergarten students must be five years of age on or before August 1, 2019.
Eligibility requirements to apply for the Early Childhood Program are located at www.lrsd.org.

Where is my attendance zone school?
Go to www.lrsd.org, click on the PARENTS tab, then select the Address-Street Locator to identify the attendance zone school (elementary, middle or high school). The student’s attendance zone school is determined by the primary residence of the custodial parent/legal guardian based on proof of residence verification.
The Student Registration Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The staff is available to assist you with registration, school information and assignments. The Student Registration Office is located at 501 Sherman Street in downtown Little Rock.
Registration for the current school year and upcoming year will continue at the Student Registration Office. All new and returning students to the district, (including K-12th graders) will be able to complete registration at the Student Registration Office, at the attendance zone school. Early childhood students, (three and four year olds) must apply at the Geyer Springs Early Childhood Center, located at 5240 Mabelvale Pike, LR. The contact phone number is 501-447-7360.

Early Childhood Registration (P3/P4) will be held at Geyer Springs Early Childhood Center, which is located at 5420 Mabelvale Pike, Little Rock, AR. To read more about the P3/P4 requirements, CLICK HERE.
If you move in the middle of the school year, students may remain at their assigned school for the remainder of the current school year with NO TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED BY THE DISTRICT. Students will be assigned to the neighborhood (attendance zone) school for the upcoming school year. If a student was alternately assigned, they will be AUTOMATICALLY BE ASSIGNED to the neighborhood (attendance zone) school for the upcoming school year.

PLEASE NOTE IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT SCHOOL FEEDER PATTERNS:
Please note: Sibling preference* will only be granted to students who are currently attending the school of interest and the student (sibling) has maintained enrollment.
*Sibling preference will not be granted during Open Enrollment periods for students who are terminating an organizational level, i.e., siblings who are at the 5th, 8th and 12th grade levels, with the exception of 5th grade students at Forest Heights STEM Academy.
