SPECIAL BOARD MEETING

May 13, 2004

 

The Board of Directors of the Little Rock School District held a special session at
5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2004, immediately preceding the regularly scheduled agenda meeting, in the Boardroom of the Administration Building, 810 West Markham Street, Little Rock, Arkansas.President Tony Rose presided.

I.��������� CALL TO ORDER

 

President Tony Rose called the special meeting to order at 5:10 p.m.�� Six members of the Board were present at roll call; Mr. Berkley was absent.�� In addition, ex officio representatives were also present:Susan Bonominio, teacher at Williams Magnet School, and Keenan Williams, student at Hall High School.

 

II.����������� PURPOSE OF THE MEETING

 

The meeting was called for the purpose of reviewing Summer Educational Program recommendations and to authorize the budget required to conduct those programs.


 

SUMMER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS:

 

Dennis Glasgow reviewed the recommendations and provided the Board with a brief background of the process used to develop the summer enrichment and credit recovery summer school programs.This item had been presented previously in the April Board meeting, however action was tabled at that time pending additional budget information.

 

Mr. Day made a motion to approve the recommended budget for the proposed summer programs.Dr. Daugherty seconded the motion, and it carried unanimously.

There being no further business before the Board, the meeting adjourned at
