School no longer in operation
It is unknown when this school was built. It originally was known as Pike Elementary, named for Albert Pike; its name was changed to Granite Mountain Elementary in 1955. Its name was changed again to Martin Luther King Intermediate School in 1981. The school closed in 1982. The new school name transferred to Oakhurst School, which then became known as M.L. King Elementary.
