Stephens Elementary School opened January 2001 and is located at 3700 West 18th Street, in Little Rock, Arkansas. The staff includes the principal, 25 classroom teachers, and teacher specialists. The school was named for Ms. Charlotte Andrews Stephens, a prominent educator (teacher and principal).
Reading, language arts, math, science and social studies serve as the main educational components, with art, music, physical education and computer literacy rounding out the curriculum.
Stephens also has state-of-the-art technology: 4 computers in each classroom, 28-station computer lab, Distance Learning Lab, Cyber Time & Space Travel Theater with, Comparative City Studies Center and Library Media Center.
The Stephens Community Center is adjacent to the school. The Stephens Community Center offers programs for students and adults. Some of the programs include basketball, aerobics, exercise equipment, homework center, board games, arts and crafts.
Extra curricular activities include the Quiz Bowl, Spelling Bee, choir, cheerleaders, Dance Troupe, and Basketball Team.
