LRCH Thespians Score High Marks and Big Dollars

Little Rock Central High students competed at the 2013 State Thespian Festival, Jan. 24-26, held at Alma High School— the entire troupe was named a “Gold Honor Troupe.” Outstanding performances yielded over $100,000 in scholarship offers to six students: Allison Light, Morgan Maxwell, Will Nicholson, Steven Hulsey, Kloe Richardson and Noah Whitney. Additional scholarship offers are still pending.

Their one act play, Babel’s in Arms, by David Ives was chosen for the festival’s “Showcase.” Other performances chosen for the Showcase included:  Group Acting, Richard III, co-directed by Steven Hulsey and Group Musical, 44 Plays for 44 Presidents, co-directed by Noah Whitney. Both received straight superiors and were named Best of Show in their category — the top spot in the Festival’s Showcase.Please congratulate the following drama students for their outstanding performances and special recognition at the Arkansas State Thespian Festival:

Named to All State Cast: Will Nicholson & Noah Whitney
Named to All State Crew: Allison Speed
Elected Chair of the State Student Board of Directors: Will Nicholson

These students received Superior ratings and were invited to compete in the International Thespian Festival to be held this summer in Lincoln, Nebraska.
