Mission

To provide quality, effective testing services to school administrators, teachers, and district administrators in order to assist the district in fostering accelerated achievement in all students.

The responsibilities of our office include:

  • Coordinating the administration of the state-wide testing program in the Little Rock School District

  • Providing professional development to administrators and teachers regarding test administration, test security, and basic data interpretation

  • Investigating activities related to test irregularities

  • Managing documentation and storing testing data

The Arkansas' New ESSA plan focuses on improvement and opportunity for all students by targeting Academic Standards and Assessments; Accountability; School Support, English Learners, and Teacher Effectiveness. This new plan attempts to integrate accountability at the federal and state levels.

Performance Reports

Each year, the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) publishes a Performance Report of the state's schools. This online report provides information about each school, district and the state, including test performance, teacher qualification, retention, discipline and more. It is designed to help open the lines of communication between schools, parents and the local community.

Reward Schools 2017

Pursuant to Ark. Code Ann. §6-15-2107, the Arkansas School Recognition Program was created to provide financial awards to public schools that experience high student performance, student academic growth, and for secondary schools, high graduation rate.
