Our Bright Spots

Positive relationships are formed between GT, family, the home school, and the community.

  • Established identification procedures result in an identified GT population that mirrors the school and community populations.
  •
  • K-1:  Students throughout the district participate in curriculum programs which emphasize enrichment in the classroom.
  •
  • 2-5:  Resource (Pull-out) programs are tailored to address unique student learning characteristics and academic needs (Identified students are referred).

6-8:  Students are served through Pre-AP and/or GT Seminar classes.

9-12:  Students participate in various classes based on strengths and interests.  Options:  Pre-Advanced Placement Classes, and Advanced Placement Classes (AP).

GT extends beyond the traditional classroom.

Alternative programs provide students with additional opportunities to expand: Destination Imagination, Spelling Bee, Mock Trial, Math Olympiad, Chess, Governor's Quiz Bowl, Quiz Bowl, Y.E.S. Competition, History Day, Science Fair, Stock Market, Junior Great Books, DUKE TIP Program, Worldfest, and special field trips. (NOT ALL PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED EVERY YEAR at EVERY SCHOOL).

All GT specialists are certified, or are currently seeking certification.

Students are our number one priority.
