LRSD's Lemonade War Celebration, Saturday May 20, Clinton Center

Graphic featuring picutres of lemons and date for Lemonade War Celebration at Clinton CenterWe hope that you have enjoyed reading The Lemonade War at home with your child.  We have been exploring the book through activities and discussions at school.  Jessie and Evan’s lemonade competition has sparked lots of excitement across the district!

On Saturday, May 20th , we will close out The Lemonade War with a huge celebration at The Clinton Library.  Our celebration will take place in conjunction with the Clinton Center's Bridge to the Future Festival, from 10 a.m. -2 p.m. with the following activities:

  • Student performances from each elementary school
  • Bounce houses and fun activities
  • Book give-aways for summer reading
  • Food trucks to purchase snacks
  • Each elementary school will have a booth with fun activities
  • Partners in Education will have door prizes
  • Radio stations will provide live broadcasts and door prizes

Be sure to post your favorite Lemonade War photo or video, using #LRSD1District1Book to Facebook.  The photo or video that receives the most "reactions" will be recognized from the stage Saturday, and the student, parent or school representative will receive a prize. 

For your convenience, shuttles will be available at various sites to keep you from fighting the River Market traffic.  You can park your vehicle at a secure location and catch a shuttle to the Clinton Library.  Free shuttles will run from 9:30 a.m. -2:30 p.m.  from the following locations:

War Memorial  Stadium Parking Lot – 4 buses 
Carver Magnet – 2 buses
Mann Magnet – 2 buses                                     
King Magnet – 3 buses
Chicot Elementary – 4 buses
