It is the policy of the Board of Education to provide child nutrition programs on a nonprofit basis in the Little Rock School District as a service to those students who desire to take advantage of them.

The Board agrees to participate in federally funded nutrition programs which provide benefits to District students.  Under federal and state agreements, the Board, as the local food service authority, agrees to uniformly implement the regulations for each program.

The Department of Child Nutrition will comply with all rules and regulations pertaining to health, sanitation, internal accounting procedures, and service of foods.

The principal of each school is responsible for administering the program in the particular school in accordance with Child Nutrition and USDA regulations.  Where possible, the principal will provide for correlation of the program with areas of instruction.  He/she will be responsible for maintenance of discipline in the cafeteria or lunchroom.
