Coming to a Neighborhood Near You...LRSD Superintendent Mike Poore

As part of his Entry Plan, Little Rock School District Superintendent Mike Poore will launch the first of a series of Listen and Learn Community Walks this Saturday, July 23, noon-2 p.m., in neighborhoods that comprise Zone 1 and 2 of the Little Rock School District.

Donning blue shirts with the Community Walk logo, Poore and a small group of  LRSD staff and district supporters will go door-to-door, visiting with stakeholders on designated Saturdays in each of the district's seven zones.  Subsequent dates will be posted on the district's website.

The Community Walks provide the superintendent an opportunity to personally introduce himself to community members, engaging directly with them in their neighborhoods.

"I take this opportunity very seriously and will perform my job with energy, enthusiasm, and commitment.  I will “hit the ground listening and learning” in order to gather as much information from stakeholders within the schools, as well as from parents and community members," said Poore. "I firmly believe that the greatest asset the Little Rock School District (LRSD) has is the passion of its people."

The Community Walks, prior to the start of school, will be the beginning of an effort that the superintendent will undertake throughout the year, visiting stakeholders in each LRSD school zone.

Details about Superintendent's Poore's planned Twitter Town Hall will also be announced soon.
