81 Parkview AP Students Receive Cash Awards

On Friday, September 7, 2012, we honored the Parkview students who earned qualifying scores on their AP exams in math, science and English last May. Parkview was selected as part of the first cohort in the AAIMS initiative and implemented their program during the 2008-2009 school year. The five-year program was designed to increase minority participation in Advanced Placement classes, to increase the pass rate of all students in the rigorous classes and on the challenging exams, and to develop a viable vertical teaming structure in each discipline. This year, eighty-one of our students have earned $12,800 for their achievements in this endeavor. Each student was awarded $100 for each AP exam passed by our AAIMS Achievers.
